FOCUSING ON MARKET DEPTH AND SUSTAINABLE GROWTH IN EXPORTS
The Ministry of Trade’s decision to increase the number of target countries for exports from 55 to 60 demonstrates its commitment to building a more flexible, balanced, and resilient export structure in response to global fluctuations, as well as seeking new markets. The target country approach, as a results-oriented tool at the heart of the export strategy, facilitates the direction of our companies’ resources towards the right markets. In this context, the additional state support provided directly increases the competitiveness of exporters in the field through overseas fairs, trade and purchasing delegations, UR-GE projects, market research, and e-export activities.
The comprehensive activities carried out by AKİB have been a strong complement to this strategy in the field. International fairs, national participations, trade delegations, and Turquality initiatives in many sectors have increased the visibility of Turkish exporters on the global stage while also laying the groundwork for establishing direct commercial connections. Our companies, whose institutional capacity has been strengthened through UR-GE projects, have seized the opportunity to grow exports based on added value, thanks to brand-focused promotional activities.
This multi-layered set of activities, carried out under the coordination of our Association, has established a structure that increases market diversity and permanently strengthens companies’ international competitiveness; it contributed $16.8 billion to the country’s exports in 2025. This result clearly demonstrates that the planned organizations carried out in the field, the target country-focused approach, and the support mechanisms have been correctly designed. In the coming period, as AKİB, we will continue to pursue our efforts resolutely, focusing on value-added and sustainable growth that strengthens the position of exporters in global markets.
