THE FIRST EXPORT TRAIN FROM RAILPORT TO DUISPORT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED
Railport, Türkiye’s first private intermodal terminal, successfully launched the first export train connected to Duisport (Duisburger Hafen AG)—the world’s largest inland port operator based in Germany—as part of an operation conducted in partnership with Mars Logistics. The simultaneous handling of a finished vehicle train and a container train during the operation demonstrated Railport’s integrated infrastructure capable of managing different cargo types concurrently, as well as its operational flexibility. In this regard, the operation showcased the terminal’s capacity in intermodal transportation. The arrival of the container-loaded export train, which departed from Kartepe, in Duisburg is considered a critical milestone in strengthening logistics connections between Türkiye and Europe. This route also marks the first tangible outcome of the collaboration between Railport and Duisport. Railport General Manager Fatih Yılmazkarasu noted that the operation confirms the company’s operational capabilities and stated that they will continue to provide faster, sustainable and integrated transportation solutions between Türkiye and Europe.
