Export Supports Shed Light on Our Business World
We continue our voluntary “Business Diplomacy” activities all over the world with the motto “Our job is to carry our power to the world”
First of all, I congratulate you on your Eid al-Fitr and wish that it will be a holiday where we can feel the feelings of peace, love and unity in the most intense way at the tables where we will come together with our loved ones in peace and conversation.
With the motto “Our job is to carry our power to the world”, we continue our voluntary “Business Diplomacy” activities all over the world. DEİK, the window of the Turkish private sector to the outside world, has been carrying out its activities for 40 years on the basis of voluntary membership and with 152 Business Councils spread all over the world. We carry out our activities with our Business Councils, Counter Wings, Founding Organizations, Corporate Members and colleagues. As DEİK, we experience that the export and e-export supports provided by public institutions and organizations, especially our Ministry of Trade, provide significant advantages to our business world.
In 2022, the Ministry of Trade gathered all existing export supports under a single roof and introduced new support mechanisms as a result of evolving global trade dynamics. In addition to these, the existing support rates were increased for the countries covered by the Far Countries Strategy. As DEİK, another new area that we attach importance to in our business diplomacy activities is the development of e-export. In addition to the existing exports of goods, new support mechanisms have been created by the Ministry of Trade in the field of e-exports. In addition to these incentives, the financing and guarantee facilities provided by Eximbank have recently increased and the number of products has been diversified. A challenging year awaits global trade due to mutually imposed tariffs and other protectionist measures. In this context, all kinds of support and financing opportunities to be provided to our business world will be an important step in the international competition of our exporters.
For this reason, we have set the main theme of our new issue as support for exports and e-exports. In this issue, we present the cover interviews we conducted with Ali Güney, General Manager of Türk Eximbank, and Kübra Orakçıoğlu Kazan, President of DEIK/Investments Abroad Business Council. We have also included an article on export support packages written by Hasan Önal, Head of Department at the General Directorate of Exports. Kerem Alkin, Professor of Economics, shared his views on exports with us. In addition, we have also included an article by Tamerlan Taghiyev, Azerbaijan’s Trade Representative to Türkiye, on Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations. You can also get information about TRT “Tabii”, the popular viewing platform of recent days, follow current developments and important agendas of the sector, and take a look at our enjoyable articles on travels.
