GROWING RELATIONS WITH PARAGUAY

We are determined to continue our efforts to ensure that Türkiye is among Paraguay’s leading trade partners

Our relations with Paraguay, one of the important gateways for Türkiye’s policy of opening up to South America, have made significant progress in recent years. Through the Türkiye- Paraguay Business Council, established in 2022 to help develop and sustain our bilateral relations, DEİK organizes events to increase business opportunities in Paraguay and directs the Turkish business world to this market.

Paraguay, where macroeconomic indicators such as low inflation, unemployment under control, and stable growth rate are favorable, keeps its doors open to foreign investors with incentives and low tax opportunities. In this context, Paraguay’s membership in Mercosur, together with its geographical location on the continent, means opportunities to access important and voluminous regional markets. We are determined to continue our efforts to ensure that Türkiye is among the leading trade partners of Paraguay, which has important powers of global trade such as Japan, Italy, and China, as well as neighboring countries such as Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. In this framework, the DEİK/Türkiye-Paraguay Business Council Delegation Program was organized on 20-22 May 2024.

Within the scope of this first DEİK visit to Paraguay, our delegation had the opportunity to meet with Paraguayan senior government officials and business representatives, including the President of the Senate, Ministers, and Deputy Ministers, at a reception held at the Embassy residence. It is aimed to strengthen these contacts with a second delegation visit on November 27-30, 2024.
