The capital is Richmond; Virginia Beach is the most populous city and Fairfax County is the most populous political subdivision. Virginia is the 13th biggest economy contributing to the US’s total gross domestic product (GDP) and it is the 7th best state in overall rankings. Education, opportu- nities and fiscal stability ratings are leading categories. Agriculture, aerospace, mining, technology, and the military bases are the top five industries in Virginia. It has a widely diverse economy that includes the local and federal government, military installations, farming, and manufacturing. Cost of doing business in the State of Virginia is com- paratively low among Washington Metropolitan Area and it offers a variety of incentives and programs to businesses. Virginia incurred a $12.1 billion deficit in exporting and importing products in 2019. That reflects a 9.6% year-over-year increase compared to the same period last year. Office machine parts, wheeled toys, water, textile, mobile cranes are the most imported goods. Compared to Virginia’s needs with the strengths of Turkey; importing textile, plastics, wooden furniture, rubber, metal furniture, marble floor covering, and jew- ellery from Turkey to Virginia seems like smart business. Contracting and real estate investment might be another business opportunity; if appropriate conditions, time, financing, and correct pricing are met. Virginia, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin (ABD) Güney- doğu ve Orta Atlantik bölgelerinde yer alan bir eyalettir. Başkenti Richmond olan eyaletin en kalabalık şehri Virginia Beach, en kalabalık siyasi alt bölümü ise Fa- irfax County’dir. Virginia, 2019 yılında ürün ihracat ve ithalatında 12,1 milyar dolarlık açık vermiştir. Bu sayı, bir önceki yılın aynı dönemine kıyasla yüzde 9,6’lık bir artış anlamını taşımaktadır. En çok ithal edilen mallar arasında ofis makine parçaları, tekerlekli oyuncaklar, su, tekstil ve mobil vinçler gel- mektedir. Virginia’nın ihtiyaçlarını, Türkiye’nin güçlü yönleriyle karşılaştırdığımızda; Türkiye’den Virginia’ya tekstil, plastik, ahşap mobilya, kauçuk, metal mobilya, mermer yer döşemesi ve takı ithalatı önemli birer fırsat oluşturmaktadır.
