Citizens of Iran entered our country through the customs gate after the controls and testing negative for Covid-19. The opening of the gate, where thousands of Iranian tour- ists enter the city every year, excited the tourism sector representatives and business circles both in Van and Iran. Iranians, who were not able to come to our country for a long time due to the closing of the customs gate, have already made reservations for hotels in the city through agencies. “VAN IS HAVING A FIELD DAY” Yunus Yüksel, President of Van Hoteliers and Tourism Pro- fessionals Association, said that the people of Van are ready to host their Iranian guests. Stating that hotels and ac- commodation facilities have completed their preparations, Yüksel said, “All our tradespeople and tourism professionals conduct their trade through the border gate. They have experienced great difficulties as it had been closed for 14 months. Now everyone is happy that it is opened again. Van is really having a field day. We have high expectations. We receive requests via phone and mail every day. We expect more tourists to come than in previous years. Our tourism facilities have completed their preparations. We are ready to host our guests to the best of our ability,” he said. Saray ilçesinde bulunan ve İran’da artan vaka sayıları ne- deniyle 24 Mart 2020’de araç ve yaya geçişlerine kapatılan Kapıköy Gümrük Kapısı açıldı. Yaptırdıkları COVID-19 testi negatif çıkan İranlılar, kontrollerin ardından gümrük kapısın- dan ülkeye giriş yaptı. Her yıl binlerce İranlı turistin kente giriş yaptığı kapının açılması hem Van hem de İran’da tu- rizm sektörü temsilcilerini ve iş çevrelerini heyecanlandırdı. Gümrük kapısının kapalı olması nedeniyle uzun zamandır Türkiye’ye gelemeyen İranlılar, şimdiden acentelerle görü- şerek kentteki otellerde rezervasyon yaptırdı. “VAN ADETA BAYRAM EDIYOR” Van Otelciler ve Turizmciler Derneği Başkanı Yunus Yük- sel, tüm Van halkının İranlı misafirlerini ağırlamaya hazır olduğunu dile getirdi. Otel ve konaklama tesislerinde ha- zırlıkların tamamlandığını belirten Yüksel; “Bütün esnafımız ve turizmcilerimiz ticaretlerini sınır kapısı üzerinden yapı- yor. 14 aydır da kapalı ve esnafımız büyük sıkıntı yaşadı. Şimdi açılması herkesi çok mutlu etti. Van adeta bayram ediyor. Beklentimiz çok yüksek. Her gün telefon ve mail üzerinden talepler alıyoruz. Önceki yıllardan daha fazla turistin gelmesini bekliyoruz. Bütün turizm mekanları ha- zırlıklarını yaptı. Misafirlerimizi en iyi şekilde ağırlamaya hazırız” diye konuştu.
