85 RÖPORTAJ | INTERVIEW We have talked with Mehmet Kalyoncu, Chair- man of the Executive Board, who said, “Real estate has been regarded as one of the safest investment means in Turkey for many years. Real Estate will continue to grow as one of the leading industries of Turkey in our country where the need for new housing continues due to de- mographic reasons”, and we mentioned the current position of the real estate sector that is the shining star of the Turkish economy, its share in the economy, the reflections of the pandemic on the real estate industry, and the future pre- dictions of the industry. Where would you place the Turkish real estate industry compared to the world? How do you see the position of Turkey? I would like to emphasize that the real estate industry in Turkey has a greater potential com- pared to the world. One of the important trade centres of the world, Turkey is an attractive country with its transportation facilities, tour- ism, entertainment, fair, and congress tourism today. Particularly Istanbul and Izmir, Bodrum, Antalya, where real estate development has re- cently begun to be handled by more corporate firms, continue to draw the attention of investors from all over the world, especially after the pan- demic. At the same time, Turkey has raised its infrastructure above world standards. We have seen how important infrastructure is, especially during the pandemic process in which our strong health infrastructure has been tested. In our country where infrastructure development has been carried out with great success, we have very valuable projects that have been consid- ered with all aspects and implemented such as communication infrastructure, airports, hospitals, highways, and energy facilities. Türkiye gayrimenkul sektörü dünya ile kıyaslandığında nerede yer alıyor? Türkiye’nin konumunu nasıl görüyorsunuz? Türkiye gayrimenkul sektörünün, dünya ile kıyas- landığında daha büyük bir potansiyel içerdiğini vurgulamak isterim. Dünyanın önemli ticaret merkezlerinden biri olan Türkiye, bugün ulaşım imkânları, turizm, eğlence, fuar ve kongre turizmi ile cazip bir ülke konumunda. Özellikle İstanbul ve yakın zamanda gayrimenkul geliştirmenin daha kurumsal firmalarca da ele alındığı İzmir, Bodrum, Antalya da özellikle pandemiden sonra dünyanın dört bir yanından yatırımcıların ilgisini çekmeye devam ediyor. Türkiye aynı zamanda altyapısını dünya standartlarının üzerine çıkardı. Altyapının ne kadar önemli olduğunu, özellikle güçlü sağlık altyapımızın test edildiği pandemi döneminde gördük. Altyapı geliştirmenin son de- rece başarılı bir şekilde sürdürüldüğü ülkemizde; haberleşme altyapısı, havalimanları, hastaneler, otoyolları, enerji tesisleri gibi her boyutuyla düşü- nülerek hayata geçirilen çok değerli projelerimiz bulunuyor. Ülkemiz için stratejik bir zenginlik olan gayrimenkul sektörünün, gelişen dünyaya hızla uyum sağlaması için güncel düzenlemelerle önü açılıyor. Gayrimenkul, Türkiye’de uzun yıllardır en Gayrimenkul sektörü, 2020 yılını pandemiye rağmen 2019’un üzerinde bir performansla tamamladı The real estate industry has finished 2020 with a performance better than 2019 despite the effects of the pandemic !
