As of March 2020, our exports increased by 6 percent compared to the same period last year and become $15.6 million

Nepal stretches over a wide geography, holds a special geopolitical position, and has an increasingly growing economy in recent years. The country holds many great opportunities for our businesspeople in various sectors.

Nepal has a region in its borders to India with roughly 400 million Indian citizens. To meet the needs of the Indian population there, Turkish companies can make tax-free exports to India in the free zones to be created by the Nepal government. Our gold export to Nepal is already in the amount of $12.5 million since March 16, 2020. HEPP projects, tourism, textile, healthcare, and banking sectors also hold great opportunities in the country. Mutual trade figures between Turkey and Nepal are also promising; as of March 31, 2020, our export has increased by 6 per cent compared to the same period last year and become $15.6 million. Some of our export items are gold, legumes, metal ore, synthetic filament yarns, pipes, and boilers. As the Business Council, we wish to increase our relations with projects such as Turkey-Nepal Business and Investment Forum, committee visits, and Nepal Business Conduct Guide in the upcoming period.
