As Zorlu Energy Group, we invest for our stakeholders, society, and the future within the framework of the transformation around the World

Sustainability-oriented change and transformation around the world are now recognized by the business world and investors. The efforts of the European Union (EU) to put sustainability into an institutional framework through the Green Deal shows that this issue is proceeding towards becoming a system-based transformation. With the European Green Deal, the EU is committed to reaching its net-zero carbon emission target by 2050. The aim is to reduce the carbon emissions of the EU at a rate of at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 through this goal.

ZERO CARBON GOAL WILL ACCELERATE THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE ENERGY INDUSTRY

This development in our significant trade partner has direct effects on our business world and exporters. It also brings along several improvements and investments towards greenhouse gas reduction in all industries, and the energy industry is one of these. The goal of becoming carbon-neutral will accelerate the transformation of the energy industry. With the effect of the global climate crisis, the whole world will be turning to renewable energy sources, leaving fossil fuels behind. In the last decade, the rate of investments in renewable energy around the world has become three times more.

We provide nearly 40% of the energy we produce in our country today from renewable energy sources. In the projection of the next decade, our dependence on fossil fuels is expected to gradually decrease, and energy investments are expected to be made in the field of renewable energy such as solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass. In the energy industry, those utilising technology and innovation well will have a great advantage. E-mobility will also be of great importance within the framework of policies in line with the green economic transformation of the EU. Today, the transportation sector is quite a large sector economically, and it covers 25% of fossil fuel usage. It is predicted that 50% of the total vehicles sold in continental Europe will be electric vehicles by 2035. While e-mobility is the first step towards becoming carbon-neutral, another important step would be that the energy used comes from clean energy sources.

THE NUMBER OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES WILL BE REACHING 1.5 MILLION IN TURKEY

It is predicted that the number of electric vehicles in our country, which is around 2,500 today, will be around one and a half million by the 2030s. By foreseeing this change from today, we have come to a position of providing services at nearly a thousand points in 81 provinces through our brand ZES. We have carried this knowledge of ours to TRNC and Israel, and we will soon continue to expand our network, starting from Western Europe. At the same time, we certified the energy of all ZES stations with the International Renewable Energy Certificate (IREC). In brief, as Zorlu Energy Group, we focus on creating the highest value in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas while investing for our stakeholders, society, and the future within the framework of the transformation around the world.
