The first mass-produced domestic and national engine designed and developed by Turkish engineers was named “Tuna”

The ceremony held at BMC Power’s Arifiye facilities for the first shipment of the Tuna engine was attended by the Executives of the Presidency of Defence Industries, representatives of subcontractors involved in the project and BMC Power employees. In his speech at the ceremony, Celal Sami Tüfekci, Vice President at the Presidency of Defence Industries, said that the serial delivery of the engine is critical in terms of showing Türkiye and the world how the Turkish defence industry is capable of working as a team.

“ENGINE IS THE HEART OF MACHINES”

Murat Yalçıntaş, Member of the Executive Board and Senior Manager at BMC, said, “In the past, we were producing engines whose design and parts belong to others and now we have come to the point where we design and manufacture an engine whose design and nearly all critical parts belong to us.” Yalçıntaş said, “What the heart for a human body, it is the engine and power group in a vehicle. It is a great honor to be capable of domestically producing the engine of a military platform. This means that no one will be able to impose anything on the use of the engines, on the platforms on which they are installed.
