A DISTINGUISHED INSTITUTION HOLDING THE GOLDEN KEY TO OPPORTUNITIES

DEİK has played a significant role in developing commercial relations for the benefit of the country, with the support of our government

DEIK, one of the umbrella organizations of the Turkish business world, has completed 40 years on its journey to make Türkiye’s dip lomatic power more effective in the eyes of global business circles.

It is no easy feat, considering the difficult processes the world has undergone in the past 40 years. In the most critical periods, when politics sometimes proved ineffective, the existence of an institution like DEIK, which was able to overcome insurmountable barriers through targeted contacts via economic relations, is a significant gain for our country.

Established as a gentlemen’s club during its founding period, DEIK, founded by Türkiye’s most distinguished businesspeople, has played a significant role in developing commercial relations for the country’s interests with the support of our government. Over time, these relations have laid the groundwork for friendships, bringing even irreconcilable parties to the same table around economic interests. Today, DEIK functions as the guiding star of business diplomacy.

DEIK is a large and rich family, both through its central structure and its business councils, serving as a guide for Turkish entrepre neurs as well as foreign entrepreneurs working in and with Türkiye.

It is also worth noting the conciliatory roles played in the business world by the presidents and council chairmen of DEIK, who have elevated the institution with great effort and dedication since its inception. I personally consider DEIK President Nail Olpak, whom I have always regarded as a friend and mentor beyond his institutional role, to be the most accurate description of the spirit of the institution, as reflected in his statement during an interview: “DEIK does not put money in your pocket, nor does it award contracts to your company.”

On this occasion, I congratulate DEIK on its 40th anniversary and thank each and every person who has contributed to the organization on behalf of my country.
