BUILDING NEW BRIDGES WITH THE POWER OF DTIK AND OUR DIASPORA

DTİK and our diaspora, working with structures open to renewal in accordance with their location and circumstances, contribute strength and meaning to the communities in which they live

As DEIK, the Polaris of our business world, we have been operating for 40 years with our 153 Business Councils spread across the globe, working to increase cross-border invest ment and trade without using public funds, guided by our motto of “Business Diplomacy.”

One of our Business Councils is DTIK, which I chair and which is responsible for our diaspora activities, a key element of our business diplomacy efforts. I liken DTIK to the dan delion plant, which is spread all over the world, numerous, and strong enough to adapt to any condition. DTIK and our diaspora, with their adaptable and open-minded structures, contribute strength and meaning to the communities they live in.

For this reason, I see our diaspora not as a brain drain, but as a brain gain. I define the Turkish community living abroad as the “Turkish Diaspora: From Migration to Strength.” I wholeheartedly congratulate all our citizens who make us proud with their achievements outside our country, and I want to emphasize that I am always by their side and support them.

DTIK is a platform that aims to strengthen the relationships between Turkish-origin NGOs and diaspora representatives abroad, both among themselves and with their homeland, to encourage more trade and investment, and to make each of them stronger. It is not a structure that replaces them, but one that strengthens their relationships, adding power to their power.

Seeing successful members of our Turkish diaspora all over the world shows that the Turkish diaspora has now moved beyond being a migrant community and has reached a position of strength in economic, social, and cultural terms.

The investments, technology transfers, and commercial ventures of diasporas, both in their host countries and in their homeland, affect not only national economies but also the international economy.

Today, we see successful members of the Turkish diaspora in many fields, from business to education, art to sports, and politics. With this power they have gained, our diaspora representatives are building bridges between their homeland, Türkiye, and the countries where they live. As DEIK, we continue to build trade, investment, and friendship bridges through the Business Diplomacy activities of our Country Business Councils. We also work tirelessly to strengthen the network between our World Turkish Business Council and our diaspora.

As DTIK, we have Country Representatives oper ating in 6 regions around the world and City Representatives under them. With our representatives in 90 countries and 214 cities, and our members in 131 countries, we continue to increase the power and effectiveness of our diaspora around the world.

I believe that as a family living in different parts of the world but united by the same feelings for the same homeland, we will move forward towards our goals.
