WITH DEIK, TO MANY SUCCESSES

The construction sector, which has reached a business volume of $544 billion in 137 countries, owes much of its global success to the role played by DEİK

Between 2004 and 2011, I served as a member of the DEIK Management and Executive Board, representing the Turkish Contractors Association (TCA) within the management structure of the period. After a ten-year hiatus, I was re-elected as President of TMB in 2021, and I continue to serve as a member of the Management and Executive Board and Vice President on behalf of TMB, one of the founding organizations of DEIK.

Founded in 1952, TCA members began expanding abroad in 1972; today, the majority of the $544 billion in business volume achieved in 137 countries worldwide has been realized through the breakthroughs made after 2000.

The opening of more embassies by our government in more countries and the fact that our ambassadors and commercial attachés have left behind the conservative attitudes of the past and provided strong support to the business world in their countries have played a major role in this success. Furthermore, the contribution of DEIK, established 40 years ago to represent the entire business community in its commercial activities abroad, to this great success of our construction sector cannot be denied.

I hope that DEIK, of which we are the founding organiza tion, will continue to successfully fulfill its mission of being the North Star of the business world, which we all proudly embrace, for many more decades to come, contributing to Türkiye’s foreign trade.

I would like to express my gratitude to the former and current board members who have volunteered their time to achieve this important goal, and to our extremely successful General Secretariat, on behalf of the construction sector.
